NATURALLY POSED, TIMELESS

NEWBORN

PHOTOGRAPHY

Tiny details. Big love.

There is nothing quite like those first days of welcoming your baby.

The softness of their skin against yours, the way their fingers instinctively curl around your own, the weight of them melting into your chest as they sleep. It’s a season of tenderness, joy, and overwhelm, all tangled together in a way that feels both impossible and extraordinary.

And yet, it slips past quietly. What feels unforgettable begins to fade. The exact size of their tiny toes, the sound of their newborn sighs, the way their whole body seemed to fit into the crook of your arm—you think you’ll remember forever, but the details soften with time.

That is why these photographs matter. They hold more than your baby’s features; they hold the feeling of this moment in your life. The love that began before you even met them. The tears, the laughter, the quiet awe that no words can fully explain. These images become a way back to it all—reminders of how it felt to hold them when they were brand new, when everything was still beginning. It’s about telling the story of your family right now: tired, tender, and deeply in love.

Why Families Choose Me

Booking newborn photography is not just about hiring someone with a camera. It’s about letting someone step into one of the most vulnerable and beautiful chapters of your life. These are days filled with tenderness, uncertainty, tears, and a love so fierce it takes your breath away.

I understand this on a level deeper than photography. I’ve been a neonatal nurse for more than a decade, and I am also a mum of two. I know what it feels like to sit awake in the middle of the night checking your baby again and again, just to be sure. I know the rush of emotions that come with looking at your body and barely recognising it. I know the tears that fall from sheer exhaustion, mixed with gratitude that this tiny human is yours.

That lived experience shapes everything about the way I work. My studio is calm and welcoming, designed to feel like warm hug. Sessions are unhurried, led entirely by your baby, and held with the kind of patience that only comes from truly knowing what these early days are like.

FAQs

  • Your newborn session will run anywhere between 1-3 hours, usually being all finished up in 2 hours. This is dependent on how settled your baby is - the session is entirely baby-led, which means we will pause as necessary to soothe, feed and change baby.

  • The best time to get in touch is during your second trimester. I only take on a limited number of newborn bookings each month, and sessions are held on weekends.

When you're ready, I’ll send through a booking calendar where you can select your session date - I recommend choosing a weekend around 10–14 days after your due date, when babies are typically still sleepy, settled, and beautifully curled up.

Of course, things don’t always go to plan - and that’s okay. Once your baby arrives, just send me a message and we’ll adjust the date if needed. I always keep a little space for flexibility, because real life doesn’t run on a schedule

  • Absolutely — this is a moment for the whole family. We’ll usually start with family and sibling photos (so little ones don’t have to stay long), then move into the solo newborn portraits. To maintain a calm and soothing space for baby, siblings are encouraged to stay nearby only when needed.

  • Think timeless and neutral — soft creams, whites, beige, or muted tones work beautifully. Once booked, I’ll send you a detailed Prep + Styling Guide to help you feel confident and ready.

I also offer 15% off with Mama Rentals, a sustainable, express-hire service offering beautiful, photo-ready dresses for mums and outfit options for the whole family. It’s the perfect low-waste alternative to one-wear purchases. I also have a few dresses for mums in my client wardrobe.

  • While 5–21 days is ideal for that sleepy, curled-up newborn look, I absolutely still welcome older babies. Your session may just look a little more “awake” and a little more relaxed — often shifting to a more natural, lifestyle feel rather than fully posed. Every baby is different, and I’ll adapt to your little one’s rhythm.

  • Yes — I have a selection of soft, timeless wraps, blankets, and a few minimal props available in the studio. My style leans natural and baby-led, so everything I use is subtle and intentional, focusing on your baby, not the accessories.

  • Just yourselves, your baby, and the essentials — nappies, wipes, a change of clothes, a dummy (if you use one), and anything that might help settle your little one. You’re welcome to bring something sentimental (like a blanket or toy), but no need to overpack — I’ll send you a simple checklist before your session.

  • Absolutely no problem. Newborn sessions are completely baby-led — we pause for feeds, cuddles, changes, and resettling whenever needed. There’s never any rush, and your comfort always comes first. You’re welcome to breastfeed or bottle-feed in the studio — it’s a calm, private space designed with you in mind.

  • Yes — gently. I’ll guide you throughout the session so you never feel awkward or unsure. I use soft direction to help you feel natural and connected, not stiff or overly posed. You’ll be able to relax and just enjoy the moment — and that’s what shines through in the images.

  • Your final gallery will be delivered via private online link within 3 weeks of your session. It will include a curated set of beautifully edited images, ready to download and print. You'll also have the option to purchase prints, albums, or heirloom products if you wish.
